Things to do There is something for everyone to be found within easy reach of Windsor from theme parks such as Legoland, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures to historical sights which include Eton, several National Trust properties, Runnymede and, of course, Windsor Castle. For the garden enthusiast Savill and Valley Gardens in Windsor Great Park are nearby while Kew and Wisley are within easy reach. Other activities in the area include walking, open-top bus tours, boat rides and boat hire, great shopping and eating in Windsor and horse-riding in Windsor Great Park. The local leisure centre (1 mile) has a full range of sporting facilities including a swimming pool and an indoor children's play area. For more information on the area including travel information contact the Royal Windsor Tourist Information Centre on 01753 743900. Slightly further afield, Windsor's excellent road and rail links make it an ideal location for exploring the South of England e.g. London is easily accessible by train, bus or car in less than 1 hour and Stonehenge is about 1.5 hours by car. More locally, a public playground, riverside walks, a pub/restaurant and local shop are to be found within a few hundred metres and a supermarket within 3/4 of a mile.
